Terms of Service
Effective date: May 5, 2026
By using texaspowersearch.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
What we are
Texas Power Search LLC operates a comparison tool for Texas electricity plans. We are a Texas-registered electricity broker (PUCT registration BR240033). We are not a Retail Electric Provider (REP). We do not sell electricity. We help you find and compare plans offered by REPs.
What we show you
Our comparison tool ranks electricity plans by estimated total monthly bill based on the ZIP code and kWh usage you enter. The data we show comes from PowerToChoose.org (Texas’s official plan database), Electricity Facts Labels (EFL) published by REPs, and our own daily scrape of public plan data.
We make every reasonable effort to keep the data accurate and current. However:
- Plan rates, terms, and availability change frequently, sometimes daily.
- The rate, base charge, and TDU delivery fee a REP actually offers when you enroll may differ from what was published when we last updated.
- Estimated monthly bill is just that, estimated. Your actual bill will depend on your real usage, weather, seasonal pricing, taxes, and other factors outside our model.
You are responsible for verifying the plan terms on the REP’s own website and Electricity Facts Label before enrolling.
We are not your provider
When you click “Sign Up” on a plan, you leave Texas Power Search and continue on the REP’s website. From that point forward:
- The REP is your provider, not us.
- The REP’s terms of service, privacy policy, and customer agreement apply to your service.
- Billing, customer support, outage response, and plan changes are between you and the REP.
We are not responsible for the REP’s services, billing accuracy, customer service, or any disputes arising from your service with them.
How we make money
We earn a commission from REPs when you enroll through our site. This commission does not change the rate you pay. REPs build broker commissions into their pricing at the market level. Our ranking algorithm sorts plans by estimated total monthly bill regardless of which REP pays us more.
This disclosure is required under PUCT Rule 25.486 and we’re happy to make it.
No guarantees
We don’t guarantee that any plan we show you is the absolute cheapest available, that the rate won’t change, that you’ll save a specific amount of money, or that the REP will provide any particular level of service.
We use bounded language like “based on current rates and your inputs” intentionally. Past rates don’t predict future rates.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape or copy the comparison data for commercial use without permission
- Use the Site to attempt to defraud REPs or other users
- Submit false information to providers through links on the Site
- Reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying systems
