Giving Back

Texas Power Search donates 10 percent of every commission we earn to The Storehouse of Collin County, a community- services nonprofit in Plano, Texas.

Why The Storehouse

The Storehouse serves families in our area facing food insecurity. They run a food pantry, provide community services, and operate as a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit. They are based in Plano, in the same Oncor delivery territory we serve every day.

The Storehouse does not partner with us. We donate to them as any individual donor would. They have not endorsed Texas Power Search and they have no involvement in how the site operates.

How the math works

When you enroll in a plan through our site, the electricity provider pays us a commission. That commission does not change the rate you pay. The provider builds broker commissions into their pricing at the market level.

We allocate exactly 10 percent of every gross commission to The Storehouse. We make the donation monthly.

Running total

We are in launch phase. The first donation goes out once our first commissions clear from our affiliate-network partners.

This page updates monthly once donations begin.

How to verify

The Storehouse publishes an annual report and accepts donations through their website at thestorehousecc.org. When we send a donation, we save the receipt for our tax records and we will note the donation amount on this page.

If you ever want to verify our donations independently, contact The Storehouse directly. They keep their own donor records.

Why we do this

A teen-founder business with a charity commitment is not unique by accident. The Storehouse commitment is built into our financial model from day one. It is not a marketing line we added later. It is the reason the math works the way it does.

When you save money on your electricity bill through our ranking, a portion of what we earn helps stock a food pantry that serves families in our county. That is the structural compromise we have made with our model. Every commission we collect leaves a trace beyond our bank account.
